The Phi Phi Islands are an island group between the large island of Phuket and the west coast of Thailand. Administratively part of the Krabi Province, Koh Phi Phi Don is the largest and most populated island of the group.

The islands became known worldwide when Koh Phi Phi Le was used as a location for the movie “The Beach”. In June 2018, Phi Phi Le’s Maya Bay, made famous by the film, Damaged over the years as a result of too many tourists visiting the bay, and was closed indefinitely by the government to allow its recovery.

Koh Phi Phi is quite small, but don’t worry, there’s plenty of options for nightlife and you won’t have to look too hard to find a party here.

The island’s three main areas— Tonsai Village, Tonsai East, and Loh Dalum Bay— is where most of the bars can be found on Koh Phi Phi.

While Tonsai is where the majority of the bars are, most beach parties are held in Lou Delum Bay. A great spot for relaxing and kayaking during the day, it’s at night that things come to life with one of the biggest fire shows on the island.

It’s totally free to enjoy the show, but at least buy a drink at the bar and leave a tip to the fire artists to show your appreciation. The beach is all about cocktail buckets, lots of shots, fluorescent paint, slack-lining, and limbo games.

Koh Phi Phi is the island that never sleeps and having no cars helps create an extremely laid-back vibe that you can find in some venues, while other bars can have an opposite atmosphere, pumping a full-on party involving loud music, sand dance floor and plenty of the typical bucket cocktails. So you can be sure that there are options to suit everyone!

Carlito’s Beach Bar & Nightclub

Carlito’s Beach Bar & Nightclub is located on the eastern side of Tonsai Bay on Phi Phi Don Island. Probably the most popular place to party on the island, it’s located close to many hotels.

This place is renowned for its great beachfront location, spilling out on the sand and surrounded by the jungle’s trees.

People frequent this place even in the afternoon, enjoying its relaxed vibe and activities such as the early evening yoga sessions and ‘fire poi dancing’ lessons— practiced in safety, with no fire.

At night the main attraction is the actual fire show, and people gather in crowds to see it. Like many other places on the island, at Carlito’s, you can find the cocktail buckets, in addition to regular drinks and beers.
