Best Nightlife in Krabi

Best Nightlife in Krabi

The province of Krabi is quickly becoming a popular travel destination for the many tourists visiting Thailand every year.

Less developed and crowded compared to Bangkok and Phuket it also has a safer nightlife feeling that would suit a family who will like to enjoy the authentic Thai restaurants and indulge in some of the many bars, without the crazy hustle and bustle of the capital city.

In terms of activities, Krabi has plenty of water and land-based things to do, in addition to a great choice of dining and entertaining, you can be sure that Krabi has something for everyone.

Despite being a little less developed, Krabi has its own international airport and it’s just a 90 minutes flight from Bangkok!

Check out this list of nightlife places and activities you can’t miss if this is your first time visiting Krabi.

Ao Nang Center Point

AO nang Center Point

Located on Ao Nang beach road, as the name suggests this is the epicenter of the nightlife in Ao Nang, a recently renovated three stories complex dedicated to entertainment. It features great options in terms of dining and bars, as well as shop and unique shows— such as the Lady Boy Dance at The Blue Dragon.

Here you can shop for local souvenirs, hit one of the many bars and while you’re at it, even get a new tattoo!

While the ground floor is a large open-air space surrounded by restaurants and bars, the higher floors feature a series of venues for adults only, the go-go bars were barely dressed ladies (and ladyboys too) pool dance sensually for the patrons.

Other bars, like the Rocky Bar or the KR Bar & Pub, offer a different atmosphere, even tho some good company might be found here too— if you know what I mean.

  • How to get there: Central Beach Road, by the Burger King
  • Opening hours: 18:00 – late

Krabi Night Market

Krabi Night Market

Like other big resort towns in Thailand, Krabi has its own Night Market. It’s held on the Krabi Walking Street on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 17:00 to 22:00.

With more than 70 street food and beverage stalls plus all the souvenirs you can possibly imagine, you’ll quickly realize why it is so popular. Shuttle services are organized by the hotels in the area to visit this event.

Walking around the market you will probably encounter the kids of the local schools playing music or entertaining the tourists with shows to raise funds for local charities.

It has cheaper prices compared to the more popular resorts in Thailand. if you’re good at bargaining you could possibly get deals for almost nothing!

If you’re lucky enough to be in the area on a weekend, make sure you’ll visit this market— you must try the coconut ice cream, loved by locals and tourists alike!

  • How to get there: 8 Soi Maharaj, by Vogue Department store
  • Opening hours: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 17:00 – 22:00

Soi RCA Entertainment is the other nightlife hotspot of Ao Nang.

RCA stands for Royal City Avenue— the main clubbing location of the capital Bangkok— and it’s located on Ao Nang Road, heading out to Krabi Town.

If you’re a man, when entering Ski RCA you will be closely observed by the bar girls that are standing in front of all the venues available in this street.

It can be considered a smaller version of Bangla Road in Patong Beach, Phuket— but loyal to the Ao Nang more laid back style, it is much more low key than the Phuket equivalent.

Loud music and neon lights, these are the common features of the bars of this strip, with names that leave almost nothing to the imagination— such as Amy’s 69 Bar, Kiss Bar and Climax Bar to name a few.

Even though Soi RCA is a spot that winks more to men, women and couples are obviously welcome, and whether you’re after some company or not, Sri RCA is definitely a great place for people watching!

  • How to get there: 249/2 4203 Tambon Ao Nang, opposite McDonald’s
